I have seen people sketching the Kowloon Flour Mills for so long that it’s finally my turn.  These “older” buildings are so beautiful and unique that they seem to have their own characters.

Blue House

 I know perfectly well that I cannot capture the #BlueHouse in #WanChai, and so I played a trick – I purposely used the #BaoHong paper, which helped to tune down and harmonize the uncontrollable bright colours I love to use.  And of course the big truck blocked my view during the whole process helped a lot too.

 

ABC Cake Shop roll cakes were bought home afterward.  What a fruitful day.

Causewaybay Typhoon Shelter

In 《香江神探福邇，字摩斯 》 (an adaptation of Sherlock Holmes stories to Hong Kong during the late Qing Dynasty), Sherlock used the sound of the noon day gun to identify the direction of a boat, and so I went and planned to sketch the #noondaygun.
 
I was quite disappointed, I have to say, as the real gun is quite small, within barriers and covered when it is not fired.  And so I turned and sketched the #causewaybay #typhoonshelter instead.

驚蟄 Insects Waken / Jingzhe

#驚蟄, or #insectswaken, or #jingzhe is the third of the 24 solar terms (#節氣) in the traditional Chinese calendar. It is the day when the hibernating insects and animals awake from winter, and marks the beginning of the spring farming season.

I hope this skeleton sketch can scare the unwelcome insects and animals from my house, and most importantly scare the virus from everywhere!
